After an enjoyable eve at the Bucks New Uni's first Union Awards held at Adams Park, home to the London Wasps and High Wycombe FC. The free buffet was alrite, kinda like a random snacks table, did the job though. So after several other awards announcements the tension was rising, not quite sweaty palms tho, I had convinced myself I wouldnt win Community Voluteer Award 2010. As they named the other nominees we waited, it wasnt long before they announced the winner but it felt like a longcat, heart rate quickens, a quick prayer and BOOM! Lee Baker rung out over the speakers! i looked across the room to the SNOWSOC crew, who also won 2 out of the 3 awards they were nomiated for! Well done guys! So I stand up and prepare to collect the award on stage and faced with an unrehersed speech. Done, then a few snaps taken. Then sat down by my table, kind of ashamed to say it, a bit smug ;) I do feel that others deserved it more in my group than me but I hope the award was for all the other things I have been doin through the uni... Anyways enough rambling thanks for takin the time to read it!

I have been nominated for uni's - volunteer of the year awards, for a mural painted in a community centre, the awards take place 2moro night... not sure if il win or who the other nominees are, but atleast its an excuse to dress up, n not for court. plus its got a free food n drinks buffet... good effort!!! fingers crossed il be bringin the cup home too... result tba soon!!!

Bucks New Uni...

A project which was much in need... The mission was to produce a mural to replace the interesting 'long blue cat in high heels wall?' - student quote not mine. I was required to design a proposal which was ok'd. So Maser, Koama, Kaps, Kins n myself attacked the wall, heres some pics...

Hill Crest Centre

I was given the opportunity of running a volunteering project @Hill Crest community centre, through Bucks New Uni. The objective was to provide a mural to brighten up the place, which caters for young adults with learning difficulties. Having several other uni volunteers to help paint and create the wall. The project was hailed a success and the owners were happy, the project has now been nominated for Volunteer of the Year and we are awaiting the results TBA May time
